Day #3: Quandary Farm
Yesterday, we arrived at the Quandary Farm – 100 acres of Virginia land with a house, a farm, guest house, chicken coup, Talula the hounddog, four cats, a target practice shooting range, a huge grill, a flat top surface for roller hockey skating, skates, and…a recording studio. Basically this place (owned by Matt Singleton, a producer friend of Julius C’s) is heaven. Matt and his family were fantastic hosts. Matt’s wife and I briefly bonded about ornithology. Matt’s daughter likes to jump up and down a lot. And Matt’s son is on the road to becoming the youngest player to ever play professional baseball.
The show in Charlottesville was quick, but fun. We played four songs and then made way for the Drunk Tigers.
Charlottesville (aka “The Town Dave Matthews Built”) is a beautiful town. The downtown area is completely shutoff from traffic for a pedestrian walkway, similar to Boulder, CO and Burlington, VT (and now Times Square and Herald Square, NYC!).
Tonight, DC! Tomorrow night, Philly! Onward and upward…
